Welcome To Fish Doctor!

First Aid / Help For Fresh Water Fish

November 2005 -update

Since 1998, Fishdoctor.info has been helping people diagnose and treat fresh water fish diseases. When I first got the idea to start this site back in high school, there were hardly any websites offering information on fish diseases. Figuring other people were having as many problems as I was diagnosing and treating common illnesses, I decided to start this website and compile everything I had researched about disease treatment. Since then, I've received tons of positive feedback and I average about a thousand hits a month. As always, fishdoctor.info remains to be a free service.

I would like to apologize for not being able to personally respond to your e-mails. Collage to say the least takes up all my time and this year will be graduation - hopefully Medical School to come. I'll try to update my FAQ's and helpful links and resources as new information comes in.

Thank you for visiting...

Katie

I am not a doctor, so forgive my misleading website name, but I am a fish hobbyist who would like to help other people with their fish problems. This website is designed to help people who have a sick fish on their hands and want to diagnose and treat it, or are looking to learn about aquarium diseases. The site will hopefully help you diagnose fish ailments so that you can find an effective treatment. I have a quick diagnosis chart to help you figure out what disease your fish may have, even if you don't know the disease names, and I have also included descriptions of each ailment in alphabetical order. Please note that this website is strictly for fresh water or tropical fish.

DISCLAIMER:

I've tried to make this site as accurate as possible in terms of diagnosing the most common fish ailments. Some of the symptoms may differ depending on fish species, and sometimes sick fish will die no matter how hard you try to treat them. Also, some of the information and tips on this site are my own speculations - things I have found that work well with my fish. I'm a college student and I don't claim to be an expert on fish. I am not a vet. This site is something I'm doing on my free time because fish are a hobby of mine. I don't want to be held responsible for anything that happens. I made this site simply to help out in identifying fish illness; not to guarantee your fish will be cured.
